No cream cheese in the grits, but they're stone ground really fine and taste wonderful!
Everything is baked fresh, depends on the day. Everything is amazing! If you haven't been there you won't be disappointed.
The food here is delicious and the staff are fantastic. The prices are very reasonable and they even have a small area for small groups. The attached bakery has delicious pastries, cakes, and cookies! My kids were very happy!!
This is my first time here, and I have really enjoyed myself. I got the half sandwich and soup. The chicken salad sandwich is a very generous serving with the soup of the day which was a vegetable bean soup. Both were delicious! But what really caught my taste buds was the potatoe salad. I've had a lot of good and bad potatoe salad, but this one stood out from the others with a truly distinct flavor. 10/10 would visit again!
Delicious food. Charming place. Great servers.
We went there on a Sunday to the cafe attached to the bakery. They have an amazing brunch buffet. The food was excellent and they also had a great assortment of items from the bakery. Everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend the buffet, you will not be disappointed. The buffet is only on Sundays, they have a regular menu during the week for breakfast and lunch.
Great service & friendly staff. Fabulous food!
Cute place with great food! I had the club sandwich with fried green tomatoes on it and the potato salad, everything was delicious. I will definitely be back to try the other options that looked good too! Eden was our server, she was really friendly and super energetic.
Friendly staff and nice place, but they got my order wrong. Wasn't even that busy. Food was good at least. Make sure you check your takeout before you leave.
This is maybe my favorite place in the area. They even have excellent bagels, and the lox and bagels are amazing. Everything we've gotten there is good
Very friendly staff, good sweets selection as well.
The cafe is split into two parts - the bakery side and the cafe / coffee shop side. The sandwiches from the cafe are wonderful and are served on freshly baked bread. I had the grilled veggie sandwich on a rosemary focaccia roll which was absolutely delicious! The apple coleslaw side was light and refreshing with a vinegar instead of mayonnaise base - wonderful! I also enjoyed a fresh almond bear claw from the bakery. The cappuccino was so-so - a bit bitter with poorly frothed milk, but no worse than Starbucks and frankly as good as any other options in the area. The cafe is a bit busy and noisy for staying and working but the bakery side also has tables and seems to have fewer customers who sit and stay.
The cafe is an exceptional place for breakfast. Do yourself a favor and come here even if it's a bit of a drive, it is worth it. The coffee is good, service very personal and great food selection. Then when your done with breakfast you can find some things to go at the bakery and you can have the deliciousness at home.
Cute store, very tasty eclairs. Always busy!
Didn’t get a chance to try something from the bakery, but I loved the brunch I had in the cafe. Nice and peaceful location, great crowd and staff. Service can take some time depending on the rush, but I didn’t mind waiting. Great place to pop into when you’re visiting or passing through Pendleton!
We always love our little treats here. The workers are always nice and sweet just like the goods they bake! The only downside to this great place is the fact that they close quite early, about 4pm I believe on weekdays. It's a nice treat though if you have a chance to go there. It's also located in a cute little town area with several antique shops and a nice place to have dinner in the center.
What a sweet little eatery! Tucked away in sleepy downtown Pendelton, this hometown bakery serves up a delicious breakfast menu with outstanding customer service!
I've been here a couple of times and it hasn't disappointed yet. I had the club and it was really good along with the apple slaw. Never had that kind of slaw before but it was pretty good. Also I got the smores Brownie for dessert and it's totally worth the diabetic coma it'll put you in if you eat the whole thing.
Really great atmosphere and the food is great! All of their ingredients are fresh and the baked goods are to die for. Their coffee is really awesome, too! I particularly like Sunday brunch
The anchor food experience of Pendleton and a lovely local’s place. The owner makes exquisite baked goods, and their meals consistently meet expectations. Go for Sunday brunch (make reservations!!) and stay every day of the week to talk to everyone. Their baklava is also special: there’s rose in there, Syrian style. I’ve lived away from Clemson for three years, but I’ve been spending (and eating) my weight in their pastries since 2013.
Great good and loved it. Too much food lol
5+! Talk about a piece of Southern charm with delicious bites! Estella and Moe were so welcoming and hospitable. Both the bakery sweets and lunch were enjoyed by all at our table. Thank you!
Sunday brunch is AMAZING--a little pricey but well worth the 14.95. It's a brunch buffet, so you can definitely get your fill for the cost. The service was great too! The shrimp and grits are excellent, but the Mediterranean dishes really did it for me.
Great Place!! Awesome breakfast!! GORGEOUSLY MADE PASTRIES!!
I ordered the Village Veggie Melt which is served on rosemary focaccia bread! Outstanding and may have set my expectations too high for my next one at another restaurant. I could smell the rosemary as I stuffed the sandwich in my mouth--heaven! My chosen side was apple coleslaw--wow! Very favorable to my taste buds! Topped off with good coffee...I enjoyed this meal!
Very friendly staff, great quiche, as well as the usual assortment of good breakfast choices. Sunday brunch usually has a unique assortment of extra choices. Attached bakery has awesome looking pastries, cookies, and cakes.
I was meeting a client here for coffee this place is very cool , I didn’t get a chance to sample any of the baked goods or breakfast but I will be back !
Great food, friendly service, beautiful location!
Always get a good innovative meal at this casual, inexpensive place.
Great local place, gonna miss it when I'm gone. Service can be a bit slow at times, but the food in both the cafe and bakery are great.
Taste sensation! Well worth a special trip
We stopped in for breakfast today and it was delicious. I ordered the skillet and my wife order their biscuit, both were great. The skillet was cooked perfectly, I had mine with over medium eggs and sausage which comes on a bed of home fries and served with toast. My wife’s biscuit was a classic egg bacon and cheese it was the size of her hand! The staff here are always nice and friendly. Jordina (sp), the manager, always does awesomely with warm welcomes and great service. They definitely have the best breakfast for the price in the area. I believe it’s better food than Sunny Side Cafe, although SS has a more up to date building. Which I could not care less if you have a newer place if the food isn’t up to par.
I have been to this place 3 days in a row and love the food, family owned and operated. The staff is amazing!
Happened to stop there on our way through Georgia. Do not miss a chance to go in if you can.Excellent baked goods and friendly service. And they had "real" bagels!!!Do give it a try.
One of our favorite lunch spots, this place is cozy, with friendly service and good food. The bakery is the highlight -- try the almond bars and lemon bars. Sunday Brunch is just wonderful, with a combo of Mediterranean and Southern dishes. Please support local, small businesses like these.
Best pastry I've had in my life. Almost worth a trip from Florida just to get this food.
An ultimate display of Southern charm with comforting delicacies that are guaranteed to satisfy. Being a lover of breads, the bakery offer a host of various baked deliciousness from sourdoughs to baguettes, artesian loafs and so much more. Be sure to try any of the sweet treats ranging from pastries and cookies, to cupcakes, macaroons, canonlis, and MORE! A great place to check out, GO & ENJOY!
I think I had a total of three waitresses none of which ever brought me what I requested. I ordered hot tea and water and never got the water. I ordered butter with my bagel but I never got it. The waitresses seem to talk to the customers that they know well instead of making sure that everyone has what they need. The food was good hence the reason for the three stars. I may try them again just to see if the service gets better.
I have been very lucky these past two weekends. I searched through Urban Spoon and found this place. Read a few reviews and decided to give it a try. This is the best Bakery/Restaurant combo ever, and a real bakery that rivals the big city bakeries. I was just looking for a good meal, but I was blown away. The flavors that were in the dishes had my tongue jumping and moving. Quite a wonderful place, and I WILL be back. I only hope they don't get too successful and move to Las Vegas to make a killing.... Although.... if I had the cash, I would invest in them to move locations to the big town. Last weekend I found a place in Columbia, SC called the Original Pancake House and it was wonderful too. Still I think the Village bakery is even better!
Enjoy a great breakfast at reasonable prices. The grits and bacon keep me coming back. They have a nice bakery attached also. Very friendly and attentive waitresses.
The place for breakfast in the Clemson/Pendleton area. The servers are friendly. Food is great, although every once in a while the grits can be too salty. You can buy a pastry in the bakery. Get the nine-grain toast!
Fun shop on the square. Great breads and friendly staff.
Great food and super nice staff. And the bakery is AWESOME!!
Thank you Abdul for always providing the best pastries and cookies, and being a part of the community. Logan and I will always be loyal customers!
A quaint little bakery and cafe with great food run by great people
Really good Sunday brunch. Great place for afternoon sandwiches for lunch. And the bakery is expensive but very good.
Good food, sweet service and good sweet tea. Pricing is what you'd expect.
Small and dainty..waitresses were awesome and friendly..only downside was potatoe salad was really tart to me...
Have been going to this place for years and I must say it ain't was it used to be.Was served rotten chicken salad not once but twice....even bakery is not what it should be.Will not be back
Pastries were awesome. They make all their own breads and they serve lunch also look like a great menu
